Tell us about your company. What services do you provide?

My company is LifeStyle Wellness Group. I am a Certified Holistic Life Coach and a Certified Wellness Coach. I work with elite athletes, NFL and NBA players, as well as patients that are referred to me from a GI doctor. I coach people of various backgrounds and ages with various conditions on how to optimize their health. I meet with some of my clients in my office but most of my coaching is done over the phone. My clients are from all over the US and I even have some international athletes that I work with in Austria and South Africa. LifeStyle Wellness Group was formed in 2013. It was formed as a branch of my previous company, Platinum Personal Training Group, LLC.

What made you decide to start your own business?

This is my fourth business that I have started. I started this company because there is a need to help people get educated and supported in how they can prevent and manage their health and wellness issues. It is my life’s purpose to be a teacher and my passion is health and nutrition, therefore starting a Wellness Group is fulfilling my purpose.

What got you interested in being a Wellness coach? Was there any particular inspiration or was it something you were always interested in?

My interest in becoming a Wellness Coach came about over time as I did more and more research into nutrition for my personal training clients. There is such a need to educate and support people in making good choices in order to prevent becoming sick and I felt that the more I uncovered, the more I needed to share.

What is some important wellness advice that everyone could use?

Wellness is a lifestyle, not a diet, not a quick fix. Cleanse, Balance, Build and Love… if you incorporate that philosophy in all areas of your life you will achieve wellness.

What do you like best about running your own business?

Flexible hours to create the life I desire.. be a working Mom but be able to participate 100% in my children’s activities… total freedom to do as I choose, travel when I want and be there for my children.

Do you have any advice for someone looking to start their own business?

Do your research, put pen to paper with all your thoughts, ideas and dreams, and then take action. Ask for help from others more experienced in what ever field you are entering and know that it is going to be a constant rollercoaster ride! The most important advice is don’t ever give up… if you never quit and keep going you will succeed!!

What is the greatest challenge you face in running your business?

Technology… It changes so quickly and it does not interest me. I find myself having to hire people to help me run this facet of my business.

Do you have any interesting or particular memorable stories to share about what you do?

I have a 23 year old client that hired me from when she was in the hospital for 5 days not knowing what was wrong or how to get better. After 4 months of working with me, she is a new person, healthy, off of all pharmaceutical medications, happy and leading a normal life.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Travel and meet new people. Spend hours on the beach reading. Teach children of Central Florida how to swim through The Gift of Swimming Foundation.

How do you keep a balance between work and free time?

Set my priorities, live by my written check lists of things to do, and take action on a daily basis… stay laser focused and organized.

What quote or saying do you live by?

Make “stuff” happen, no excuses, Just Do It!
